United States Navy Concert Band in Main Hall
🎃 Something spooky is coming to The Stage at Union Station! 🎃
On Friday, October 30th, from 12:00–1:00 pm, Sing for Hope presents the final concert of our America 250 military band series, featuring the United States Navy Concert Band! As the premier wind ensemble of the U.S. Navy and the original ensemble of the Navy Band, the group has been performing for audiences across the country for 99 years.
Just in time for Halloween, this program has a mysterious edge. Expect the eerie rhythms of John Mackey’s “Strange Humors,” a dark fairy tale in Jess Langston Turner’s “Rumpelstilzchen,” and “Music of the Night” from The Phantom of the Opera, featuring Senior Chief Musician Bill Edwards on vocals. The program also includes John Williams’ “Viktor’s Tale” from The Terminal with Chief Musician Lauren Geist on clarinet, and closes with Clifton Williams’ rousing “Fiesta.”
Don’t miss this grand finale to our America 250 concert series!
